- H.H. (taught three daughters): Ms. Alla Korinevskaya has been a part of all 3 of my daughters’ education for the past 8 years. I would like to stress particularly her ability to motivate students, and her deep interest in challenging students to reach their full potential. She is an outstanding teacher and person, and definitely a favored teacher of my daughter.
- D.B. (taught two daughters): Mrs. Korinevskaya has made math fun for my daughters. She has taught both my daughters in middle school and high school for Foundations of Algebra, Honors Algebra 1 and 2, and Honors Geometry courses. She has taught them, mentored them, and instilled in them the power of knowing that they are capable in math, even when they thought and said they weren’t.
- B.E. (taught two sons, two daughters - high school, middle school): Our family was abroad when our younger son was in 7th grade, where his math class was taught in a foreign language and did not cover all of material… When placed in Algebra 1 Honors in 8th grade, he had many gaps to fill in. With Mrs. K, our son went from an F in first quarter in Algebra to a C in the second quarter, and ended up with an A+ both the third and fourth quarters!
- S.B. (taught three sons - high school, middle school): We feel very fortunate that our kids have had the opportunity to be taught by Mrs. Korinevskaya. She is a master in her teaching, with expertise extending far beyond the realm of school mathematics. Mrs. Korinevskaya maintains a structured yet comfortable learning environment in which her students strive and develop a love of learning mathematics.
- P.D. (taught grandson): My grandson, who is in the Honors Algebra I, loves learning with Alla! Alla is very creative in her teaching. She is able to explain concepts in several ways to give students additional insights into the concepts. Math games provided by Alla enhance the math and make the learning more fun. In addition, on occasion, special fun activities are planned for the students, such as ice cream bars in the shapes of geometric figures!
- L.W. (taught a daughter - high school, middle school): I have been impressed by Mrs. Korinevskaya commitment to teaching and her dedication to the real pursuit of knowledge. As a math teacher, she excels in conveying difficult concepts with simplicity and patience. As an educator, she is dedicated to the cultivation of her students’ talents and abilities, and encourages them to press their own limits. Alla helped my daughter, Sara, to develop new confidence and competence in her study of mathematics.

- At the competition (MATHCOUNTS - A.K.) I was struck at how far I had come in problem solving, because of your teaching and guidance. You personalized math for me and my classmates. Thank you! Carter
- Your classes are fun and you explain how to solve problems in a very clear way. Thank you. Laura
- Throughout elementary school I struggled with math, making it to honors classes but always struggling with the concepts other students found to be simple. Fortunately, Mrs. Korinevskaya was able to explain previously elusive concepts clearly while still providing me with a rigorous, work-involved course. Mrs. Korinevskaya’s teaching style is lucid and organized. She peppers her lectures with practical example problems and ensures that her students have structured and informative notes. Mrs. Korinevskaya’s personality and sense of humor are another wonderful aspect of her teaching! Sara
- Hi Alla, How are you?? I hope the year is off to a good start. Anyway, I just HAD to e-mail you to tell you that I'm coaching MathCounts at a middle school in New Haven! I'm having soooooo much fun and I keep thinking about all the problems that we did with you. Thank you so much (once again.)
I'm learning a lot about the deficient New Haven curriculum for math too. They don't compete in actual competitions, but rather competitions amongst New Haven schools. They absolutely love 24! Anyway, hope you are doing well and that I will see you when I'm home for thanksgiving. Sincerely,
L.C. (Yale class 2010)
